Something new I'm trying....

"The blush, do you think it's too dark?"
"No, Henrietta. In fact, I think we'll need a bronzer because she's so fair..."
"It's the sickness, you know."
"Yes. At least's she's not complaining."
"Oh, but what bride would complain about marrying Keith Chandler on their wedding day?!"
"True, true."
Outside the door to the Bride's Room in the church, Keith smiled. He so wanted a glimpse of Helga on her wedding day, just a second, so that he wouldn't be utterly taken aback at how beautiful she looked walking down the aisle. He didn't want to cry in front of everyone -- that would destroy his staid, cool-guy image. Not on his wedding day.
Just a glimpse...
He leaned on the door, his forhead pressing against the wood, eyes wide open to take in his future wife's...
"Keith! NO!" Helga's Aunt Amelia screamed.
"It's bad luck," the mother of the bride wailed, but from the looks of things, nothing was going to help poor Helga today.
Keith knew it, by the way her head was tilted at such an unnatural angle. But it was those eyes, Helga's beautiful, green eyes, that really gave it away -- wide, staring, lifeless. He looked accusingly at Helga's mother and aunt.
They shrugged, makeup in their hands, the folds of Helga's chiffon and satin dress spilling over their feet.
"Fifty-thousand pounds, if you're her widower, Keith. Please don't let everyone think she died an old maid..." Helga's mother implored him.
"What a monster!" Keith thought, then decided it was better to join the club. Fifty-thousand pounds, after all....
